DESCRIPTION:A fascinating journey to modern times: from iconic masterpieces to hidden gems. Music by Dvorak\, Debussy\, Piazzolla\, and more! \n\n\n\n\nThe Grand Finale of the Series \nThere is a human life behind every piece of art. \nStories Behind the Music is a listening and concert series I created to explore classical music as a living story—shaped by real people\, their friendships\, and the world they lived in. \nLast year\, we explored the Baroque and Romantic periods. This winter\, we focused on the Classical era. Now\, we arrive at our final chapter for the season: The Transition to the Modern Period. \nWhat to Expect \nThis is not a formal lecture\, nor is it a traditional concert. It is something in between: a thoughtful and social way to experience music. \nFor this final concert\, Soul Strings Ensemble appears as a Piano Trio. We will perform a “huge” program of music that bridges the gap between the old world and the new. You will hear masterpieces by Dvořák\, Rachmaninov\, Skryabin\, Debussy\, Piazzolla\, Villa-Lobos\, and more. \nEven with so much music and many stories\, the whole event (including the talk and intermission) will be no longer than 2 hours. \nThe Performers: \n\nHartmut Richter — Violin\nJoseph Dowell — Piano\nAnna Shabalina — Cello & Stories\n\nAdmission is free. No prior musical knowledge is required.
