Vocal Jazz
Join CANVAS, a Halifax-based vocal quartet, for an intimate evening of richly blended harmonies and expressive vocal jazz at The Peggy Corkum Music Room.
Featuring four accomplished singers — Fran Farrell (Soprano), Amelia McMahon (Alto), Ryan Billington (Tenor), and Kurt Sampson (Bass & Vocal Percussion) — CANVAS presents a thoughtfully curated one-hour program of of vocal jazz favourites, inventive arrangements, and heartfelt interpretations.
PROGRAM includes songs from a variety of artists ranging from Nat King Cole, Charlie Chaplin, The Beatles, Prince, and even Johannes Brahms!
This concert is designed for music lovers, singers, and anyone who enjoys live music in a warm, up-close setting. With seating limited to just 105 seats, audiences are invited to enjoy the nuance, artistry, and engaging musicality that define the group’s approach in one of Halifax’s most beautiful small performance spaces.
