Shirley Jackson & Jef Wirchenko and Dawn Hatfield & JF Laflèche each take the stage with their signature sounds before coming together for a high‑energy, instrument‑swapping finale that blends sax, strings, and pure creative joy.
Experience the artistry, camaraderie, and rich musical heritage that define Nova Scotia’s music scene — all in one unforgettable night. The evening promises to be an exciting, soulful celebration of music and collaborative music.
Each duo will bring their own unique sound and style to the stage in individual sets, followed by a collaborative finale set that brings all four musicians together. In this final set, they’ll perform each other’s repertoire and explore fresh arrangements with a creative mix of instruments and voices.

ABOUT THE MUSICIANS
Shirley Jackson, (Vocals, guitar & sax) is an award-winning artist and a recognized singer/songwriter who writes and performs a soulful blend of acoustic tunes with her son, Jef Wirchenko, on Acoustic Bass. The duo play Jackson’s originals along with a blend of traditional blues, roots, folk and country that are ‘close to their roots’. Jackson has independently produced four albums with her six-piece Good Rockin’ Daddys; each nominated for Blues Recording of the Year by the East Coast Music Association and the Nova Scotia Music Awards.
Hatfield & Laflèche is a Halifax-based music duo known for their unique blend of vocals, guitar,bass, and baritone sax, creating a distinctive sound that merges folk, roots, country, and blues.
Their collaboration began in the fall of 2016 exploring the sonic relationships of their chosen instruments and the versatile role of the baritone sax in the duo setting. Since then, their instrumentation has expanded. Their diverse musical backgrounds shape their original material and inventive arrangements of a curated selection of covers.
