Adrianna Ciccone & Ellen Gibling

Fiddler Adrianna Ciccone and harpist Ellen Gibling perform a program shaped by Irish and Appalachian traditions, blending original music with time-honoured favourites. In a sensory-friendly setting, the performance moves between slower, calming pieces and more upbeat sets with steady, repeating patterns and clear musical lines. Highlights include “The Limerick Lamentation,” “North Country Waltz” and “The Geese in the Bog / Mrs. O’Sullivan’s / Liz Carroll’s,” alongside original pairings like “The Back of Winter / The Cavers of Kirkcudbright” and “The Golden Goose / Mon Poisson.” Ciccone was raised in the Ottawa Valley fiddle tradition and is greatly inspired by Québécois fiddling. She graduated from Berklee College of Music, and her debut album won Instrumental Artist of the Year at the 2015 Canadian Folk Music Awards. Gibling is a harpist whose music spans classical, Irish traditional, and improvised genres. Her 2022 solo album “The Bend in the Light” has been called bold, beautiful, and enchanting, and her 2024 duo album with Ciccone, “The Pear Tree,” has earned praise for its genuine, heartfelt sound. This free concert welcomes everyone. You are invited to settle in, take in the sound at your own pace, and enjoy live music in a comfortable, supportive environment.
