Maddalena Laura Lombardini Sirmen’s “Quartet No. 2 in B-flat Major” reveals her classical poise and 18th-century virtuosity. Alicia Terzian’s “Tres Piezas” conjures a vivid emotional landscape shaped by her Argentine and Armenian heritage. Pulitzer Prize and GRAMMY-winning Caroline Shaw’s “Plan & Elevation” and “Entr’acte” dazzle with inventive structures and lyrical warmth. Fanny Hensel Mendelssohn’s “String Quartet in E-flat Major” brims with Romantic expressiveness, its harmonies and contrasts revealing her undercelebrated genius. Hailed by France Musique as “a revelation,” Quatuor Cobalt has earned acclaim across Canada with performances at Place des Arts, Palais Montcalm, Salle Bourgie, and Chapelle historique du Bon-Pasteur, along with appearances at leading festivals including Domaine Forget, Lanaudière, and Music & Beyond.
